What Grade Are You in the School of Women?

I remember a time when I couldn't even carry a conversation with my husband. My brain fog was so bad, I couldn’t remember what I had just said a minute ago.
It was around my early 30s. Mood swings, irritability, and exhaustion became my new normal. I went to my doctor, looking for answers, only to be told that nothing was wrong. But deep down, I knew something was off.

Women’s Health: A Journey Through School Grades
Did you not get the memo? Your body has already moved into 9th grade (aka perimenopause), but you're still living like you're in 7th grade!
Just like we advance through school, our hormones shift with each life phase, and our bodies require different support at each stage.
Here’s how I see it:
Elementary School (Teen Years) – Hormones are chaotic, but the body is resilient.
Middle School (Early 20s - Early 30s) – Hormones are still adjusting, but you can bounce back from a 3AM party with just a coffee.
High School (35-50, Perimenopause) – Surprise! Your body is changing, whether you noticed or not. Brain fog, bloating, joint pain, hair loss, mood swings, low energy, weight gain? Yep, all part of it.
College (52+, Menopause) – Freedom! But only if you’ve supported your body well in “high school.”

Perimenopause Is a Phase, Not a Diagnosis
Here’s what most women don’t realize: perimenopause is not a diagnosis—it’s a natural transition. But that doesn’t mean it’s symptom-free.
The problem? Most doctors don’t talk about it.
So when you start feeling “off,” you get:
"Your bloodwork looks normal."
"It’s just stress."
"Maybe you’re overreacting?" (Cue the rage 😡)
Meanwhile, you’re struggling. And instead of getting solutions, you’re left wondering if you’re the only one going through this. You are not alone in this game,
What Worked in "Middle School" Won’t Work in "High School"
Remember when you could eat whatever you wanted and never gain a pound? Or how pushing through exhaustion was just part of life?

Yeah… your body doesn’t work like that anymore. And that’s normal.
But if you don’t adjust, your symptoms will only get worse.
Here’s how to support your body in “high school” (perimenopause):
✔️ Eat nutrient-dense foods and hydration – Say goodbye to low-fat diets. Your hormones need healthy fats and protein.
✔️ Switch up your workouts – If high-intensity workouts leave you drained, try strength training, restorative exercises (like Pilates, mobility work, or walking), or yoga instead. (And maybe check in with your gym ego—it's okay to swap the bootcamp for something that actually supports your hormones!)
✔️ Prioritize sleep – No more sacrificing rest for productivity. Your hormones rebalance while you sleep.
✔️ Manage stress differently – Your nervous system directly affects hormone balance. (Hello, breathwork, yoga, and saying no more often.)
✔️ Balance blood sugar – No more skipping meals or relying on caffeine and sugar to function.
Your Body Has Moved to the Next Grade—Are You Keeping Up?
Perimenopause doesn’t mean something is “wrong” with you. It means your body is asking for new support.
So ask yourself:
Are you still living like you’re in middle school when your body has moved to high school?
Are you ignoring the signs, hoping they’ll go away?
Or are you ready to support your body through this phase—so you can actually thrive?
Because here’s the truth:
You don’t have to struggle through perimenopause. You just need the right approach for this season of life.
Are you ready to give your body what it actually needs?
